School Information


Student attendance and student achievement are closely intertwined. Students who develop patterns of good attendance are much more likely to be successful both academically and socially than students who develop patterns of poor attendance. Poor attendance at all grade levels, including kindergarten, directly impedes academic performance. Each school shall work collaboratively with the entire school community to maintain and create a school culture and climate where students feel safe, welcome, and connected. A positive school environment, conducive to regular daily attendance and learning, will result in increased attendance and improved academic achievement. Parents can be empowered, engaged in, and responsible for the success of their children’s education by encouraging their children to be on time for school and attending school every day.  Together, the school and parents can ensure that their children are successful in life.
At Camellia Ave Elementary School, the school gates open at 7:15am. Classes begin at 7:45am. Any child arriving after 7:45am is considered late and will be marked tardy. If your child needs to leave school early, please pick him/her up at the Main Office.  If your child is tardy, absent or leaving early, you must provide a valid excuse. Uncleared early leaves and absences and absences for which a valid excuse was not provided will be counted as a truancy. District policy requires that any tardy, absence, and early leave be cleared within ten school days.
